Let's reintroduce who you are - Who are you and what are you doing now?

Maya and Yehuda are Israeli comic artists, married couple and the creators of the popular web comics "One of Those Days”. The comics portrays their lives as a standard couple plus two, who face all the difficulties of the day to day life in a humorous and honest way with NO FILTERS.

Their success created a community of over 9 million people worldwide that devoutly follow the couple’s lives across their different social media platforms on a weekly basis.

Over the last 5 years, Maya and Yehuda published 5 books, become #1 Amazon Best Seller, Attended dozens of comics and design conventions all over the world, TEDx lecturers, Youtube silver creators award winners, launch a successful online course for artists and content makers, created and sold a unique merchandise, maintained a successful online shop and crated an online documentary series named “The Heartists” accompanying a week in the lives of an Artists, with over 18 million views on their social media assets.

In 2019, Yehuda and Maya won the "The Most Creative Content Makers" award as part of the prestigious international competition "INFLOW GLOBAL Awards" in Istanbul. Winning the award emphasized that, beyond talented artists, the two are also masters at creating content and storytelling of one frame.

Do you think NFT is the future of art?

We certainly understand NFT is where the global technology goes and crypto in general.

We see two possibilities: Either ignore the change and in 20 years be strangers in the business world, or jump on board and be as an example of how the NFT technology should be used in a way that respects its users.

What is the XOXO project?

These days, we are working on a huge NFT project named XOXO.

XOXO is our natural evolution in the art world from the past to the future, containing within it the real secret behind our work: our relationship. The collection confronts relationships head on with humor, vulgarism, cynicism, and challenges the discussion around our basic social need as human beings in relationships.

The collection holds 101 original XOXO’s which fabricate 10,101 unique pairs, with different levels of rarity NFT. There is a unique story behind each couple and a specific structure to each XOXO token.

What is a favorite piece of the project?

Maya - "My favorite couple is Robots XOXO. When we created it, it was innovative and unusual both on the executional level and on the conceptual level: XOXO of an old robot versus a new robot model. Both have an important place and role. The new model doesn't come to replace the old model but to strengthen it. I felt it was Yehuda and I reflected on the real world.
Another reason for my love for this particular piece is that a few days after we created it, the original edit file was accidentally deleted and all that was left was the JPG of the final couple. We had a very long night of searching for the file. The feeling was like of mourning. As if a family member had passed away.
Yehuda couldn't see me like that, so after I went to bed, he continued to sit and re-paint the couple from scratch."

What was the inspiration behind the project?

To create, we have to relate with the content of the work. All our art is based on our strength - our relationship.

It was very clear to us from the beginning that relationships is going to be the essence of our first NFT project. It's a big innovation in the NFT space because until now there has not been a series with two characters, but only one character.

Just as in real life our relationship is our strength, it is inevitable that in the NFT space this too will be the motif that will lead us. And this time we will attack the issue of intimacy from all directions: humor, fantasy, realistic and brutal.

What was one of the most challenging parts of this project?

Creating the Art. 5 months of 18 hours of work every single day. This amazing journey took us through oasis of creation, and in the same time cost us lots of sacrifices: Our children had no dad, and a very tired mom for a few hours each day, no us, no relationship, no rest, no time to eat properly or take a decent shower, no sleep or breaks.

When we were exposed to the NFT space the thing that was lacking for us the most was the art. We felt that a lot of projects underestimated their holders and are not providing them with a decent value for their money. We have decided that if we enter the space, we do it right and the art is going to lead the way. We are going to give our holders the best art our hands and mind can create.

At a very early stage in our careers we realized that our true strength is our community that supports us and enables us to do what we do. They made us who we are today. They changed our lives. So now it's our turn to return them a favor and create for them a product with unlimited value that potentially can change their lives back.

What was an awesome moment that inspired an illustration?

Every new XOXO match is a thrill for us, because it's a creation of a new story. A new philosophy about relationships.

What's next for this project?

We are working on a few very exciting collaborations with major brands and other NFT projects that will give a direct value and unique Utilities to our XOXO community.
