The sounds of feelings: An international preschool orchestra - ISTE 2022
A group of kindergarten students partnered with Estonian kids and performed an international orchestra. They researched each others cultures. In order to do this they used an educational program called Flipgrid. The conference session consisted of the kindergarten students involved in Mexico to talk about what they learned from the process.
The idea of this collaboration was to use music to represent different types of instruments. The orchestra was to learn how to respect others feelings through music. What an interesting way to teach to young people. This method is engaging in a vibrant and active way.
One of the young boys said that their favorite instrument was using the drums because it makes them happy. The kids were happy because they can use instruments to express themselves.
